It Is Time
Time is running out to get your name in front of colleges and coaches, so here are some things you can do right now to help do that:
1) Create an athletic and academic profile of yourself.
2) Check with your high school guidance counselor to see if you have completed, or will complete by graduation, all of the high school core classes that the NCAA and NAIA requires.
3) Register with the NCAA and NAIA clearinghouse if you want to play sports in college/university.
4) Make a highlight DVD of your best plays and best game.
5) Contact as many college coaches and recruiters as possible by e-mail, letter, or telephone.
6) Talk to your high school counselor and coach about any additional information or paperwork you might need.
7) Sign up for the SAT and ACT tests.
8) Read the NCAA and NAIA student athlete handbook and recruiting calendar for 2011 and 2012.

These are some of the things that will you have to do to help you in your quest to be a college student athlete. Time is running out, so it is all up to you to make sure all your I’s are dotted and your t’s are crossed!
All the links to the SAT, ACT, NCAA, & NAIA are in the STARS Blog.
