I can bet that all of this planning for the next step after high school has been a little intimidating, especially since you didn't think it would come this fast! Here are some things that I hope will relieve some of your stress. When you first get back to school, and you finish checking out each other's back to school gear, go straight to your school counselor so they can help you with the important stuff. They can help you pick a major, research schools, get your apps in, and maybe even find you extra scholarships.
About two months in, you want to decide which qualifying tests to take (SAT or ACT), and register for it. At this time you should have a couple of teachers who you could butter up and ask them to write a letter of recommendation. They can also help you work on your college app essay. Right before you leave for Christmas, you want to finalize your apps, talk to your parentals about financing, and complete your FAFSA. Right before prom, you want to thank everyone who helped you, finally decide where to go, then be ready to throw confetti and enjoy graduation!
